When thinking about transitioning from your studies into the working world (graduate job, working for yourself etc.) it is important to have an idea of where you want to be and your ideal destination. This series of workshops is aimed to help you discover who you are, what you have to offer, what success may mean to you and what you would like you professional future to look like. When you know yourself better, you are able to plan, set goals and ensure you make the most of the Ignite platform to help you get there.
Available to University of Plymouth final year students from ADA and HPA, this series of workshops include:
- Get to know yourself better: Learn about your true self so you can make the right career decisions quickly and easily
- Knowing your value, and values as a creative individual
- Personal branding: Understanding and promoting your unique creative talent
- Your creative future: Planning your next steps & Setting goals
- Overcoming the fear factor: Showcasing your skills with confidence

As it will represent who you are as an designer, it is important to be thoughtful when writing your biography and selecting images. This series of workshops is aimed to help you create an engaging, impactful and authentic profile.

22nd June - 6th July
The Ignite platform aims to connect you with the public and industry so you can generate creative, commercial and freelance opportunities. In order to make the opportunities you therefore need to be ready in terms of using your platform as a marketing tool to create your own opportunities, along with knowing how to deal professionally with incoming offers of work.
Available to University of Plymouth final year students, from ADA and HPA, this series of workshops include:
- How to get your work seen using social media and digital content
- Applying for jobs: Making the right impression at Interview
- Applying for jobs: Cvs, covering letters & applications
- Negotiating your salary & how to deal with offers to work for free
- LinkedIn: Make the most of your profile to widen your networks
- Setting up an online shop and using Patreon to build a community
- Applying for Arts Council Funding
Get ready to work for yourself

Through making new connections and reaching new audiences, the Ignite platform could potentially lead to a range of new opportunities including working for yourself and collaborating with others to set up a business and/or developing projects.
