District M
District M is a new proposal of modular housing communities in the form of selectable and stackable living units that can be reconfigured to fit users’ changing needs. Formed into a wider community sense the concept aims to vision how the future of housing may sit with expanding populations and less ability to move. With a centrally based unit, users live comfortably within one space. If users need to adapt the space to their evolving lifestyles, using an Add-On and Add-In modular prefabricated technology, the space can further expanded to meet this requirement. Furthermore, exploring, how in a constantly changing world, users can have the upper hand.

Studio M
Studio M is a concept which explores the re-invention of hotel living for interns abroad and how interior spaces can be maximized on a compact footprint. Using a 30sqm floor plan, Studio M includes multi-functional elements such as modular seating that can be reconfigured to form extra bedding and be additionally moved and re-configured with scaled down seating from under the stairs to form meeting space. With an additional retractable desk, the space can be re-configured to meet all user needs The added mezzanine bedroom provides the user with an element of disconnection from busy work life and living, providing a peaceful refuge in a compact space.
Office Re-Emergence
Working as a freelance visualiser I have created a selection of CGI's for the larger scale project, exploring bringing users back into the workplace, creating the re-emerging feeling of wanting to come back to work post-lockdown. The biophilic inspired conversion explores new ways to allow employees to interact with eachother in a more collaborative and thriving environment with the main purpose of generating a workplace that flourishes.
The Pathway Pavilion
The Pathway Pavilion is a new and refreshing urban marker concept situated within west-side of Victoria Park. Using innovative techniques by manipulating timber, it creates a space where users can come and enjoy an un-used section of the park. With integrated and ergonomically designed seating, users have the option of sitting at different levels depending on their personal preference. With opportunity to walk through from the main pathway, The Pathway Pavilion re-energises a site with previously little to no seating, bringing a new route, new conversations and a new marker for the people of Plymouth.
The Changing Cube
The Changing Cube is a new concept based on closet and furnitecture design, creating a space where users can come in the mornings or evenings with a partner or on their own and get changed in a comfortable environment and have all of their clothes within one space. With a 2.5 by 2.5 by 2.5 meter constraint I looked to designing a space with multifunctional furniture and storage which would benefit the user and have all the things they would need in one place whilst maximising the compact footprint so there is efficient space to get dressed within. With a mixture of focused lighting and open glass allows for a bright and spacious environment to allow users to getting ready comfortably and effectively.
The Story Pod Visualisation
This module was all about communication and structures. I was given an existing structure and all I was given was the name of it and from here I needed to research and gain all the information needed to make the space digitally and produce professional visuals. My space was The Story Pod by Akb architects. It is a pod that opens up during the day to allow users to come together in the community and read and at night acts as an ambient marker for community events. All I had was a couple of technical drawings and from there I had to make the space digitally on CAD and then professionally produce the visuals. The visualisation I am showing is my designed 3D model and visuals are made by me too with the people added in by myself. The Story Pod aims at bringing back the communities with the knowledge everyone has a story to tell.
The Student Hub
The Student Hub is redeveloped of a downstairs flat within the Gilwell Halls of Residence in Plymouth designed within the Covid Pandemic. Working with UPP and Wilmore Illes Architects I have designed a common space made for well being and student comfort which aims to bring students back together in a Post-Covid inspired environment safely but collaboratively.
The Buskers Hut
The Buskers Hut is a concept designed from a first person perspective and taking what things we deem closest around us and designing for this. One of the aspects which I deem close to me is my love for music and being able to play outside. One of the aspects which I noticed in the local Plymouth area was that there was a lot of buskers not being able to play for a great deal of time in the year due to Plymouth’s harsh weather changes. Therefore, I wanted to design a new way for the buskers of Plymouth to come and play in an environment which is right in the centre of Plymouth in a space of real opportunity whilst in a space which keeps them and their spectators dry. This bringing back the buskers to our streets in the poor weather and bringing life to what could be a dark day in the centre of the city whilst bringing back some valuable trade for the buskers of Plymouth.
Shift
Shift is an exploration into my major studies into stackable living units, is an accessible and affordable modular housing concept that explores and questions the ways in which we live. The dwelling enquires how housing is needing to change to fit with rising populations and a planet that is dramatically running out of resources and footprint. Shift seeks to break boundaries in the housing market, providing an open living space which is adaptable, functional and content.
