Biography
I have always had a fascination with making more with what we have, and with the power of action, even small actions. Its no surprise then that a big part of my professional experience has been to assess and deliver services and products that made a difference not just to peoples’ independence and agency, but to their experiences and quality of life. I developed this in my 10 years in the health and social care sector.
I am naturally a curious and adaptable person which through deep empathy makes me a problem solver, who loves solutions led by depth of insights from active listening and reflection.
I am not just passionate about what I do but also how I do it. I really believe in the power of community and in always seeing the positives, when assessing the negatives. I believe these are key to joyful working because loving what you do really makes a difference to self but crucially it translates into the quality of work we deliver.

Community Care Worker (CCW for Complex Care Assessments Team)
Devon County Council (DCC)July 2007 - April 2012
I had a variety of roles during my time with DCC and CCW was my last. My employment involved extensive experience of carrying out holistic, person centred assessments of users so I could design and implement effective care and support packages for individuals with Physical, Mental Health and/or Learning disabilities. Ensuring financial viability under strict financial guidelines and FACS eligibility. This included On Duty emergency work and it was achieved in collaboration with Healthcare and Social Care partners such as Continuing Health Care Panels, Ocupational Therapists, Charities, GPs, etc, but most importantly the users themselves. I was also always keen to be involved and part of new service developments and reviews.
