Isabelle is from Wakefield, West Yorkshire and about to graduate from BA (Hons) Printed Textile Design and Surface Pattern at Plymouth College of Art. Isabelle uses a mixture of contrasting colours and detailed designs that take inspiration from botanical and landscape forms. She has used her expressive black ink drawings which have been inspired by the traditional Japanese method of Sumi-e. Isabelle has developed her collection of print designs turning her ink drawings into structured repeating patterns that have been digitally enhanced for fabric production. This collection has been created primarily for interior products but Isabelle is equally at home designing for fashion.
