Jools is a multi skilled textile designer from Plymouth. Her curious nature and sensitivity to materials enables her to create unique and delicate hand crafted pieces for interiors. Her most recent project titled Underwater Dreamscapes invites you into the magical world of seaweed forests and dancing jellyfish, focusing on the calming and soothing benefits that can be had from observing this hidden ‘other world.’ This collection showcases a variety of Jools’s favourite skills such as, fabric manipulation, sewing, crochet, and hand dyeing. Jools also has a particular passion for movement within her textile designs and is always keen to experiment which offers her plenty of scope to develop new and exciting designs.
British Ceramic Tile Live Brief 2018 Designed a collection of ceramic tiles including concept and market research. Also experimenting with different mediums such as clay, natural stone and paint to create patterns and texture that could be used on ceramic tiles. Tiles were visualised in interior situations and concept boards were created to present to the client along with the finished samples. Frugi, organic clothing company Live Brief 2019 Created designs for children’s wear autumn/winter 2021. Choose a story or theme that would be the focus of the collection. Collect visual research and inspiration and consider the lifestyle of the Frugi customer. Also be mindful of Frugi's ethics on organic, sustainable and ethically sourced materials. Transfer hand drawn designs into Adobe Illustrator and create garment flats for manufacturing using a colour pallet designed by Frugi. Contemporary Craft Festival Live Brief 2020 Design and make festival decorations using recycled banner vinyl and plastic signage. Including concept research and visualisations. My final designs were chosen to be made and used at the festival in Bovey Tracey.
