Plymouth College of Art
Commercial Photography for Fashion, Advertising and Editorial
I cannot remember when my fascination with art began. I was always drawing as a child. In six years of attending art school, I was trained in classic techniques of life drawing, landscape, printmaking, sculpture, and the basics of typography. This allowed me to progress to working in the publisher and learning as I worked. The decade of my work for a publisher was a meaningful part of my life. From day one, I was absorbed in working with the multifaceted process of making books and marketing projects. I had the good fortune of learning from highly skilled professionals who allowed for the balance of technical requirements, time restraints, and artistic vision. Over time, I progressed from editing text layout to book cover design with a wide scope of responsibilities. Photographic artworks produced by photographers and book authors have inspired me to develop my own skills in photography. An interaction of photography, visual arts, handcrafted props creation, and digital post-production allow me to bring ideas to life.
I am a photographer and editor with experience in digital post-production, graphic design and manufacture. Throughout my projects, I have developed artistic and technical skills surrounding the commercial practices of photography and visual arts. My work demonstrates a wide skill set ranging from portraiture and fashion, to still life and food photography. Technical Skills: - I have advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Capture One. - Intense technology skills for pre-press and product manufacture. - Strong client focus and time management. I am skilled in digital editing, retouching, and pre-press to produce professional cohesive photographic pieces.
