Biography
Matt is a British born Writer, who has recently relocated to The Netherlands. Winning a Royal Television Society Student Award for his writing, Matt brings a pure joy and love for what he does to each project, and tries to break the old stereotypes surrounding writers in film.
Matt is in essence a ‘writer for hire’ within Film. He specialises in working closely with prospective clients on each project, creating an amicable and focused relationship so that he can properly create an end product to the client’s liking. Incredibly versatile, Matt has worked across many different genres; from Horror across to Comedy, highlighting that his love and skill with writing can be applied to any project. When he’s not writing for others, Matt follows in the footsteps of his favourite Writer Taika Waititi, often writing pieces where drama and comedy go hand in hand to great effect.
Industry Experience
Matt’s current biggest accolade was winning the ‘Best Short Form’ category at the 2020 Devon & Cornwall Royal Television Society Student Awards, with his writing on Marek Kawula’s film ‘Time is The Enemy’. Aside from the award, Matt has written for many of his cohort, and such films have enjoyed successful runs on film festival circuits. As of July 2020, Matt has writing credits on many of his fellow Film graduates graduation films, and has also aided friend and graphic design student Marcus Rees with writing and providing commentary for his charity event ‘Extra Time’, a football event organised on raising awareness of male cancers.
