3D Design : Spatial & Interior Design
My name is Mia Lawson. I am an emerging young artist; Founder of Beyond Vision Designs & 3rd Year Spatial and Interior Design Student at the University of Plymouth. My work has been featured in House & Gardens magazine UK. Jenna Burchell’s “Songsmith” spurred my interest in combining multiple disciplines such art and spatial design to create impactful design. This piece was created as interactive art allowing the viewer to gain a deeper understanding of the piece. Part of my identity as an artist and a designer is to provoke emotional responses from my viewers. I like to create concepts that provoke conversation whilst also being beautiful to the eye. Whilst spending the majority of my time torn between wanting to be a spatial designer or an artist, I am discovering the ways in which I can bring these two disciplines together in harmony in order to add depth and personality to my work. Moving around the world has provided me with the opportunity to learn and be inspired by other cultures and new environments. I like to explore the countries I’m living in with the hope of incorporating a piece of them into my design style and constantly adapting and growing. These experiences have enabled me to come face to face with various different impactful topics.
