Plymouth College of Art
I am a jeweller from Tavistock, Devon who has a commitment to exploring natural waste materials which are sustainable and ethical. I am passionate about ethical, ecological, societal issues.
I have a deep rooted interest in using natural waste materials to create unique pieces that question and challenge conventional perspectives and societal norms. Using organic waste materials ranging from Dartmoor granite to human teeth. I aim to combine precious and unconventional materials in playful shapes, odd settings and finished with bright enamels. All work is inspired by personal ethical ethos, ancient art and nature. Working with alternative ethical materials so not to add to the destruction of earth's resources, using human material which relates jewellery back to the body. Questioning societal norms and values and asking the question, what is more valuable than ourselves and the earth? Thus, grounding us back to earth.
