My dream is to be an architect with my own unique style and to build structures that will raise people’s quality of life. Just like the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando, he believes in reliable materials, like concrete or unpainted wood. By using these materials, he creates a new style of Japanese architecture and concrete that has become a symbol for Ando's architecture. The way Ando uses concrete perfectly expresses the simplicity and modernity of his architecture. It is also a reflection of Japanese aesthetics. In China, people often hold the belief that home is the utmost important item in life. Home is the foundation of a family and the key to lifelong fulfilment. It is easy to build a house but never easy to build houses that can make one feel at home. Recently due to urbanization, too many people are flooding into Chinese cities living in apartments with tiny windows, minimal light and concrete walls. Therefore, I despise these buildings, instead, my goal is to build structures and living compounds that make people feel it is a home not a house. I want to build buildings that have their own uniqueness and spirit. My architecture portfolio from year one gives a strong expression to the philosophy about why I choose to study architecture. Even though I know there is a long way to go from where I am now, but I am determined to put all my effort into reaching that goal.
